Import & Export Code - IEC India
IEC India registration is required by a person for exporting or importing goods. It is a 10 digit code which is issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT). All businesses which are engaged in Import and Export of goods require registering Import Export Code. IEC India has lifetime validity.
Importers are not allowed to proceed without this code and exporters can’t take benefit of exports from DGFT, customs, Export Promotion Council, if they don’t have this code.
Documents Required for IEC India :
1. Copy of PAN card and Aadhar Card
2. Passport Size Photo in case of Properitoship
3. Preliminary Documents
Partnership - Partnership Deed
Company - MOA & AOA
4. Details, Identity and Address proof of Director/ Partners.
5. Registered Office Address Proof - Rental/ Lease Agreement, Utility Bills, NOC
5. Bank Account details - Cancelled Cheque/ Bank Statement
6. Authorization Letter if entity other than Sole Properitorship
Process of IEC India
Step 1 : Fill the Application Aayaat Niryaat Form 2A as per prescribed format from DGFT
Step 2 : Attach the Documents required
Step 3 : Pay the Fee and Verify it
Step 4 : Finally, Submit the application after preview.

General FAQ – IEC India
For filing IEC application the applicant have to pay Rs. 500 as fee and it is valid for life time.
No, IEC India is mandatory for making Imports or Export of Goods or Services. The person who overcome law will be penalised.
Only one IEC India would be issued against a single PAN number. Any proprietor can have only one IEC number and in case there are more than one IECs allotted to a proprietor, the same may be surrendered to the Regional Office for cancellation
Normally, it takes 2 working days for processing, For cancellation it takes 15 working days.
